Efeler Way
A global initiative: Combining cultural heritage and outdoor sports
About Efeler Way / Trail
The Efeler Way is a 500-kilometer, multi-stage cultural route that begins in the Bornova district of Izmir and ends at Meryemana near Ephesus-Selçuk.

This challenging hiking trail, which explores the theme of Efe/Zeybek, aims not only to preserve historical and natural riches but also supporting the local economy in the villages along the route.
Thanks to responsible tourism initiatives, the route gained international recognition in 2023, and its maintenance is provided by volunteer stage coordinators.
Hikers' accommodation needs are met by the Efeler Yolu Friendly Businesses network, which provides accurate information and campsite recommendations. \n\nIn addition, parts of the trail are used for an ultra-marathon event called the
Efeler Yolu Ultra-Trail®, which offers courses ranging from 5 kilometers to 80 kilometers.
